Capturing their voices: The interview phase
Our documentary begins by interviewing different street artists across Amsterdam. We want to hear their personal stories, understand their passion for music, and explore the challenges they face everyday. This phase is about building trust and connecting with them. We aim to find unlicensed street performers who trust us with their story, telling us about the challenges they face and why getting a licence is such a struggle.
On the other hand, we also aim to find licensed performers, comparing their experiences to those of unlicensed street musicians and exploring how they managed to obtain a licence. We want to get deeper insight of the life of street musicians: their daily routines, the way they set up for a performance, and the unwritten rules of the street.
We want to See how they prepare, how they deal with "stolen" spots, and how much the location truly matters.
Our team and vision for the film
We see this as an opportunity, not only to give these artists the exposure they deserve, but to invite audiences into a world most people don't see. Our team is sure that most people have at some point stopped and felt a moment of connection, whether it was for the song, the sound, or the voice. We want to make that feeling last.
