Understanding unlicensed performances

Performing on the streets of Amsterdam comes with a few conditions. You don't always need a licence to perform, but there are rules you have to follow; performances are only permitted between 9am and 11pm, groups may not exceed six people, and every performer must move to a new location after 30 minutes. 

However, certain spots in Amsterdam require a licence to perform. This licence cost around 212€, which is a price not everyone can afford.
